Mapping Daniel & Revelation
To understand the complete architecture of biblical eschatology, the books of Daniel and Revelation must be read in tandem. Within biblical theology, Daniel functions as the foundational blueprint, while Revelation serves as the fully unveiled completion. Operating with an identical prophetic vocabulary—beasts, horns, precise timestamps, and dimensional warfare—they act as structural mirrors, mapping the exact same historical destination. 1. The Geopolitical Empires (The Four Beasts)
This framework maps the chronological succession of global superpowers from antiquity down to the final splintered kingdoms of human history.
In Daniel: Chapter 7. Daniel witnesses four distinct beasts—a lion, a bear, a leopard, and a uniquely terrifying beast with ten horns—emerging from the churning sea.
In Revelation: Chapter 13. John sees a single, composite beast rising out of the sea. This entity structurally integrates the features of all of Daniel's beasts (leopard, bear, lion) and possesses the exact same configuration of ten horns.
2. The Great Tribulation & The "Little Horn"
Both prophets predict a hyper-specific window of intense global friction engineered by a defiant, blasphemous ruler who wages war against covenantal boundaries.

In Daniel: Chapter 7:9-14. The "Ancient of Days" takes His seat on a fiery throne, the books of record are opened, and "one like a son of man" arrives on the clouds of heaven to receive an everlasting dominion.
In Revelation: Chapters 4–5 and 19–20. John gains access to the identical heavenly throne room, witnesses the opening of the scrolls, and documents the physical return of the Messiah riding the clouds to execute final judgment and establish His permanent reign.
